    Wow. Fascinating reminders. As a small boy I used to make my tips in the pre-Murdoch SUN newspaper (cartoonist Sunny Jim had cartoon tips) and always followed Dennis Letherby. He used to ride a lot of good priced winners for Stephenson at Royston and Reg Hollinshead. Results copied from the radio on return from school....

    I don't think Stan Smith was getting many rides by 1966-7, perhaps the odd one or two at Newmarket ,especially the July meeting.
