Wonderful stuff as ever-many thanks for bringing back memories. Re Tommy Mahon , I didn't know him but his name was in the concrete in the yard at Royston when I was an apprentice there. I knew Eddie Walker and Ray Durrant. Ray went on to train in Norway I think and his daughter was a "Jockette " :-) Denis Letherby, Bruce Raymond and Doug Barrott were some of the apprentices there then ( early 60's ). Happy Days..
Thank you so much Kenny... It gives me so much pleasure to see some of the ex-racing lads finding their old pals mentioned on here. The Copes books are fantastic little keepsakes and they do go very cheap on Ebay and Amazon often under a £5 each, I think I have the complete set now. Best wishes Burnsy
